TOP TIPS

  • Definitely rent a car from the airport. Son Viguet is 4 km from the nearest bus station.

  • Plan day trips out of Son Viguet & enjoy exploring different parts of the island.

  • Stop at as many small Spanish towns as possible. They are very authentic and usually have great food.

  • For beach days, bring ample fruit, drinks & snacks. Not all of the beaches have restaurants.

  • AllTrails is a great app to find nearby hikes/trails.

  • Stay away from Magaluf & Paguera - very touristy, don’t believe what you read.

  • Palma is an amazing city - I’d recommend one or two nights in the city.

Nearby Villages to Explore:

  • Andratx  and Port d'Andratx - This is our home base so we are biased.

  • Sant Elm and S'Arracó - Super adorable Spanish villages.

Further Spanish Villages:

  • Banyalbufar and Estellencs (beautiful drive up the coast road and can make it a loop)

  • Deià and Valldemossa (beautiful, especially at night)

  • Sóller and Port de Soller

  • Pollenca

Activities to Do in Mallorca:

  • Hiking – Use AllTrails and find local trails & hikes nearby (see our list below)

  • Cycling - Mallorca has world class cycling. Renting carbon road bikes or e-bikes from RAD International (Paguera) or VAS (Palma).

  • Beaches - We love to start our mornings with a hike & then the afternoon at a different beach (see our beach list below)

  • Calvia Market - Every Monday, from 8 am to 1 pm (very local market) - thrifting

  • Andratx Market - Every Wednesday from 8 am - 12 pm (our fav market) - fruits, meat, flowers, clothes & fake leather

  • Consell Market - Every Sunday from 8 am to 2 pm (very cool flea market)

  • Alaro Castle – Drive up to the restaurant and hike up to the top; finish at the restaurant – great lamb and drinks

  • Lluc Monastery - Historical building with a beautiful botanical garden

  • Boat or Kayaking - If weather permits. Book a half day or a 3 to 5 hour tour with Keida in Sant Elm.

Restaurants:

Andratx Square: Fun place to go for lunch after the market on Wednesday.

  • Any of the restaurants in the square are a great place to have a cappuccino and chocolate croissant or an authentic dinner with the locals (Pizzeria La Plaza)

  • Bon Nous - Paella - very authentic, not fancy.

Port D'Andratx : Big parking lot beside bridge, walk along the seaside street and pier.

  • Tims  - Absolute favourite spot. They have live music, great food and drinks. They just get it. It’s been popular for the past 20 years.

  • Mujiji - Right beside Tims. They also have great food & vibe

  • The port is a great place for drinks or BREAKFAST / coffee: For breakfast: Es Port by the water – really great healty breakfasts

  • The House of Sunset – new, small but amazing; there is a balcony so try to sit there – delicious steak

  • Look for little square that you can walk to from the main drag: The pizzeria and restaurants in there are all good

Sant Elm:

  • Os Moli - a great restaurant, not on the water but fancy and perfect spot for a romantic dinner!

  • La Casita Del Mar

  • La Cocotte: live music on some nights … check it out and great terrace year round

Calvia:

  • Can Torat - (very authentic, local restaurant must be a meat eater) we go every year and have always called it “Three Brothers” because it’s owned by three brothers…

S’Arraco:

  • El Bohemio - (super authentic village great Steak). Nice for a quiet date night. VERY QUIET & LOCAL area.

Deià:

  • Cas Patro March - make a reservation or go to the beach early to put your name down. Incredible fish.
